About TrueGIS Maps

TrueGIS Maps is a browser-based mapping tool for drawing, measuring, and exporting simple maps without requiring desktop GIS software. The application runs entirely in the browser and allows users to create map layouts and export them directly as images or PDF plans.

The tool is intended for quick mapping tasks where opening full GIS software would be unnecessary, such as sketching site layouts, measuring distances, or preparing simple reference maps.

Features currently available

• Draw points, lines, and polygons directly on the map
• Edit and style features (colour, opacity, stroke width, and point size)
• Add text labels to point features (font, size, colour, halo, and offset)
• Measure distances and areas
• Search for places and addresses, and zoom to results
• Zoom to your current location
• View feature popups showing coordinates (Latitude/Longitude and British National Grid where available)
• Import GeoJSON, KML, CSV, and TSV data
• Export spatial data as GeoJSON or KML for reuse in other GIS software
• Generate Quick Print (PNG) and Scaled Print (PDF/PNG) map exports
• Switch between multiple basemap layers
• View feature information in an attribute table
• Undo/redo edits and use keyboard shortcuts for faster workflows

How it works

TrueGIS Maps runs entirely on the client side. No account is required and map data is not stored on a server. Any data added to the map remains in the browser session unless exported by the user.

Intended use

TrueGIS Maps is designed for quick mapping and measurement tasks, simple spatial data viewing, and exporting clean reference maps. It is not intended to replace professional desktop GIS software.
